License, refunds & privacy
What you buy
Pro Notch is a one-time purchase, no subscription. The license key is for you, on the Macs you use. It includes every Pro Notch 1.x update, delivered in the app.
Your key arrives by email right after checkout. Paste it in Pro Notch under Settings → License. If you can't find it, have it sent again.
Free trial
Every download runs 3 days with everything included, no account and no payment details. After that the notch stays plain until you enter a key; your settings are kept.
Refunds
If Pro Notch isn't for you, you get your money back within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Write to info@eightclothing.de with your order number. After a refund the key stops working with the next update of the app.
This doesn't limit any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Privacy
Pro Notch runs on your Mac. What it shows (music, calendar, timers, files on the shelf, coding agents) is read on your Mac and stays there. It has no account, no analytics and no license server: your key is checked on your Mac, offline.
It goes online for these things only:
- Lyrics, if you turn them on: the song's title, artist, album and length go to lrclib.net to find its lyrics.
- Cover art, only when macOS doesn't share what's playing and Pro Notch asks Spotify directly: the cover image is loaded from the address Spotify gives for it.
- Updates: once a day it asks whether a newer version exists. Nothing about you or your Mac is sent; you can turn this off in Settings → About.
For your purchase, the store's privacy policy applies.
Requirements
macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Made for MacBooks with a notch; on other displays it shows as a Dynamic Island at the top of the screen.
